Dubbed the ‘sports car of the future’, the BMW i8 has been making a lot of waves lately since it was officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show a while back. So, naturally, the ‘man about cars’, Mr. Chris Harris himself, had to test drive the i8 and see what all the fuss is about.
Chris, who obviously lives in the UK, had specially flown to Los Angeles to take the i8 for a spin. While, admittedly he was quite annoyed with the traveling, his review of the i8 was rather good. (more…)
There has been much talk about Land Rover’s new concept vehicle, the Discovery Vision. The new car in Land Rover’s Discovery line, has a definite futuristic feel, and is also the official partner of Sir Richard Branson’s new Virgin Galactic space travel program.
The new model was unveiled ahead of the New York Auto Show, which takes place from the 18th to the 27th of April, at a special event held aboard the USS Intrepid in the Big Apple.
Just to add a bit of glamour and dramatics – and to tie in with the modern and futuristic feel of the Vision – the actual Virgin Galactic spaceship served as a (scene stealing) backdrop for the event.
Simply put, the Vision concept is stunning. Not that we would expect anything less from Land Rover. (more…)
Audi has become quite renowned for sneaky previews of their latest models. Just as they did with the ads for the S1, Audi has done it again by teasing us with sketches of the highly anticipated Q4 concept.
Audi’s Q4 is a concept SUV tat will combine both fuel and electrical motors. The company has labeled the all new Q4 as a ‘plug-in hybrid crossover’.
Luckily for us, the sketches won’t be the nay thing we will be able to see about the car for a long time. The Q4 will make it’s official debut at the Beijing Auto Show next week. So while it’s all good and well to look at the sketches, we only have a week to go to see the official, real-life model. (more…)
Finally – the video we have all been waiting for!
Our favorite car-guy and all round petrol head, Chris Harris, obviously visited the prestigious Geneva Auto Show last week, and we have to say, we are pretty excited to see what Chris has to say about some of the amazing (and some not so amazing) debuts, concepts and other wonderful vehicles on show in Geneva. Renault’s new concept car is so modern and futuristic, you would swear that it came straight out of a sic-fi film. However, that’s not the case – this car is the result of months of imagining, re-imagining and design by Renault designers worldwide.
The Renault Kwid is the company’s new concept. It was first introduced at the 2014 New Dehli Auto Expo in India. The car itself is also inspired by India, and designed to fit into the small roads across India.
The car itself is a small SUV, with super modern designs on both the exterior and interior. Renault says they plan on putting a 1.2 liter turbocharged engine inside the Kwid – so it won’t be too slow either. (more…)
2013 has come and gone, and with the passing of another year, so comes the inevitable lists. Whether its the best new apps on the market or favorite celebrity hairstyles, people tend to (really) like making lists about things at the end of a year.
And it’s not any different in the auto industry. Of course, if there is one player in the auto scene that is know for making lists and ranking cars, it’s Top Gear. And here they have done it again, ranking their Top 10 Concept Cars of 2013: (more…)
It seems that Hollywood rappers really have a thing for supercars and bright colours. And then proceeding to mix their love of fast cars with their love of colour.
A few weeks ago, we reported on Nicki Minaj’s custom, Barbie pink Lamborghini Aventador and now another rapper has joined the bright super car brigade. (more…)
More than a month ago we reported on BMW’s green, electric concept car, the i3.
Now, finally, the day has arrived that we get to show you real life photographs of the car, as it was shown off at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
The i3 marks a break through for the German car manufacturer, as it is their first electric car. It is estimated that the i3 will be able to travel approximately 80 – 100 miles, or 130 – 160km on electric power, before it would need a recharge.
The i3 is also a leader in innovative, ‘green’ car manufacturing. Most of its oddly shaped body is composed of lightweight composite materials. These include reinforced carbon fiber plastic, while the i3’s chassis is composed of aluminum and magnesium. It is the first mass-produced car with such attributes.
So, without further a do, here is the all new, 2014 BMW i3 – ready for action:
