It seems as though Jay Leno’s privileges (or luck) just seems to get better and better.
While we are already insanely jealous of his incredible car collection – and not even to mention the fact that he basically gets to drive any collector’s car his heart desires – the little green monster inside of us turned a different shade of green after we saw this. And it’s not because the car itself is green.
The ex talk show host recently had the opportunity to take a very, very rare Ferrari for a ride about town.
Now when we say rare, we mean really rare. This is a 1952 Ferarri Barchetta – a one of a kind, once off, special edition beaut that belonged to none other than Hnery Ford II. And what’s even more astonishing, is the fact that it was given to Ford as gift by Mr. Ferrari himself; Enzo Ferrari. (more…)
Have we mentioned that we love the Drive channel on Youtube? Probably.
And today is no different. We also have a special place for a beautiful, newly built (and lets not forget super, super powerful) Porsche. This is why we are really excited about this video.
Matt Farah of the Drive channel takes the all new 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera S for a spin at the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in California and really shows us what this beaut is capable of.
As per usual, we are insanely jealous but grateful enough to be able to see the car from up close; even if it is only on video.
Well this is a first.
Aston Martin has revealed an ingenious plan to keep their drivers cool during long, sweaty endurances races without affecting the actual power output of the car during the race.
Considering the fact that the sun is blazing down on the high powered cars during these long races, the British automaker has turned right to the source to help curb the hotness – the sun.
The company has said that they will be making use of solar panels affixed to their cars to power the air-conditioning inside the vehicles. (more…)
Tesla has been making a few waves in the media lately. Just after announcing that they would have no problem with other car companies using their electric technology in order to make the world a better place, it has been revealed that a new Tesla car is fast approaching.
The Tesla Model X – the company’s answer to a greener SUV – will be available for purchase as early as 2015.
The first prototypes of the car are expected to roll out before the end of this year, so Tesla is really quite keen on getting the much anticipated Model X out there. (more…)
Well this is rather surprising.
You may have heard that car company, Tesla, has announced that they are ‘opening up’ their patented electric technology to anyone (or any auto manufacturer) who wishes to use their technology ‘in good faith’.
This means that the company will not sue anyone who makes use of their technology to further the use of electric cars in the world.
“Tesla will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology…[sic] our true competition is not the small trickle of non-Tesla electric cars being produced, but rather the enormous flood of gasoline cars pouring out of the world’s factories every day,” Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla said in a blog post. We love ourselves a little Porsche action every now and then. And with the new Porsche Cayman GT 4 on the horizon, it’s always nice to take a look at the other offerings in Porsche’s beautiful range.
The Porsche 918 Spyder has long been a favorite by many. It’s sleek lines and bug, bodacious body makes it a sports car that anyone would dream of having.
The Drive channel on YouTube regularly get to test drive cars like the 918 Spyder – and while we are insanely jealous of course, it’s still pretty cool to see it in action, even if its only on camera. (more…)
Porsche’s latest creation, the Cayman GT 4, is said to rival the existing Porsche 911 Carrera as well as the powerful Carrera S – and we must say, judging by these most recent spy shots, the Cayman looks dangerous. And we mean that in a good way.
The Cayman Gt 4 will be a powerful car, that much we know. What we also like is the sleek-meets-bulky look of the car that is basically yearning to be pushed to it’s limit.
Some of the features we do know of include a new aero kit and bigger breaks. It also has larger, lightweight wheels, a lower ride height and, as you can see in the pictures, a striking rear wing and ducktail spoiler. Impressive. (more…)
We all know (hopefully) that using your mobile phone while driving is an absolute no no. Whether you are making phone call, sending a text or checking your social media, it is extremely dangerous to use your phone while you are operating a vehicle.
Sure, you might think that you are only taking your eyes off the road for one second, but one second is all you need to cause a terrible accident.
This is what Volkswagen tries to illustrate in their latest ad, promoting the responsible use of mobile phones while driving. And by responsible we mean NOT using your mobile phone at all.
The ad, which was first shown to people in Korea, integrated clever technology to really have a great on effect on the people. (more…)
