Abt Golf VI GTI 1

For me the VW Golf R is a pretty solid and powerful commuter considering the segment it belongs to but there are a few who beg to differ. For them, Abt Sportsline has introduced a powerful version of the Golf R which manages to hit the 266 hp mark courtesy of a 2.0L TSI engine under normal circumstances. The Abt magic helps the Golf R achieve 306 hp and the additional pony count helps the car dash from to 100km/h in an impressive 5.2 seconds with an overall top-speed of 261/km/h. The Abt Golf VI GTI influence can also be seen on the Abt Golf R with similar front skirting, front lip spoiler and Abt daytime running lights.

The Audi TT RS is a very capable machine — courtesy of the Audi Quattro technology — but ABT Sportsline begs to differ, hence why the companu has come up with their own version of the Quattro platform. ABT Sportsline has been in this business for fifty years so we have no other choice but to trust what they present. The wicked tuners have integrated the regular 5 cylinder engine with an air cooler and optimized the engine electronics to raise the power from 340 to 420hp. Because of that, the Abt Audi TT RS dashes from 0 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds with an overall top-speed of 282km/h. We’re already drooling over driving one …

ABT AS5-R Ready For Geneva

Based on the powerful Audi S5, the wicked German folks from ABT Sporstline – the largest tuner of vehicles from the VW group, came out with their own version. Dubbed ABT AS5-R, they beefed up the eight-cylinder standard 4.2 liter V8 (that used to output 354hp) to deliver nothing less than a whopping 510 horsepower and also added a breathtaking bodywork kit that screams power. We won’t be able to see it running the streets any time soon, but expect to get behind the wheel if you happen to be in Geneva for the Auto Show next month. Looks like an amazing ride, that we’d gladly take on. [via ABT]

Reworked Golf R32, by Abt

Abt Sportsline Golf R32

With all the fuss about the new Golf 6, here on Carblog, how about a little break. What would you say about a reworked Golf R32 by German tuner Abt Sportsline? “Whoever wants such a Golf wants an extremely fast compact car,” says Hans-Juergen Abt and he’s probably right.

The V6 engine got a few mods via a modified motor management system and the introduction of an Abt compressor kit with supercharger and air cooling system that will output 370hp (from 250hp). With the new features, Abt’s Golf R32 tops over 270 kph, going o to 100 kph in only 5.0 seconds (down from 6.2 seconds). What I can say about the exterior: those are beautiful 19-inch wheels they’ve put on it.

That’s a fast car, too bad we don’t know the price yet.
