Aston Martin came up with the official (teasing) pictures of the new Vantage GT2 and I’m left with no words. Not sure if it’s the orange and grey contrast or the stylish sporty line but I really like the way it came out. First rumors hitting the wall are about the newVantage GT2 using both standard fuel and E85 bio-ethanol hanks to the successful conversion of the DBRS9. They’ll have more info soon and we will cover it.
Now that Aston Martin has new owners, with Ford selling to two Kuwaiti investment companies a good business model would be to release a new car. Aston Martin Rapide the four-door coupe, is what everyone is waiting from the British company and we got our hands on a spied shot.
It’s based on Aston Martin’s unique VH architecture and makes the promise for both design and performance. If you guys can afford it (yes it’s going to be very expensive) and can wait a few more, Aston Martin Rapide will turn a lot of heads behind you.
Here is a taped spy shot.
If you were wondering what would be the next Bond car, the answer is simple, Aston Martin DBS. Aston Martin just signed the contract that would continue their deal with MGM Columbia Pictures to provide James Bond with luxury cars to crash.
So far, Bond’s most famous cars include Aston Martin DB5, DB7, V8 Vintage, V12 Vanquish, Lotus Esprit, BMW Z3, BMW 750iL and BMW Z8.
Dr Ulrich Bez, CEO for the British manufacturer said that:
“Aston Martin is proud of our long association with James Bond. The DBS has its own unique character which equals that of James Bond. It is explosive power in a black tie. It is the perfect car for James Bond as it delivers the complete driving experience and bridges the gap between our road and track cars – the DB9 and DBR9. It is equally at home on a twisting mountain circuit as on the open road and we are all very excited at the prospect of seeing it on the big screen again.”
Aston Martin DBS will be the next star in Bond 22 which is scheduled to be released in November 2008.
Aston Martin will build a Roadster variant of the V8 Vantage N400, a special limited-edition based on the V8 Vantage shown at the latest Frankfurt auto show and dedicated to the legendary Nürburgringer Nordschleife.
Only 240 units will be produced, but for the Roadster version it will not be possible to order the roll bar that can be had as an optional for the N400 coupè. The N400 pack consists of a new, more powerful version of the 4.3-litre V8 engine of the Vantage, that on the N400 outputs 400 bhp and 420Nm. The suspension set-up is also different from the softer one of the normal Vantage Roadster.
We can imagine how gratifying will be hearing the ferocious sound of the V8 on this en-plein-air supercar…
German tuner Mansory has developed a range of carbon-fiber accessories and performance upgrades designed specifically for the gorgeous Vantage V8. Having already established itself as a specialist in the modification of high-end British cars with previous projects such as the Rolls Royce Phantom Conquistador and Le MANSory Conti GTC, Mansory was now primed to release a new package for one the UK’s favorites. As you may or may not know, the new Aston Martin DBS was recently released. Featured (if only for a few minutes) in the latest James Bond movie, the DBS is an evolution of the very popular DB9.Well, a company based in England called Project Kahn, has released a styling kit for the standard DB9. The DB9S styling package comprises of two front and two rear valance pieces, side skirts and rear boot lip spoiler. The addition of the front valance sections provides the aggressive front bumper and the molded side skirts provide a ‘low to the road’ look which beautifully sets off the curves and flows of the original bodywork. The styling package is finished off perfectly by a set of 20†Kahn RSV alloy wheels, which Aston Martin actually used on their DBS prototype.
So for those of us who unfortunately can’t afford a DBS, but can afford a DB9, there is now a way to make your ride look even hotter. And for those of us who cant afford either, here are a few pictures of the DBS and the DB9S to wet your appetite…
Aston Martin has unveiled the new DBS model, a grand tourer that replaces the range-topping Vanquish. Based largely on the DB9, the new car features a 6.0-litre V12 , race-bred brake and chassis technology, a 2+0 seating configuration in a body shaped by the aerodynamic demands of high performance, with an exquisite interior that marries beautifully hand-finished materials with the very latest in performance technology. As many “petrolheads” would know, one of the most exciting realms of the motoring world is that of exotics. Thorough-bred sports cars are a good subject on which to spend a weekend afternoon – at least, for those amongst us devoted enough to the boundless thrills of touching, viewing and indeed, driving these beasts. With that in mind, our staffer, known to readers as SLD, spent last Saturday afternoon visiting Cape Town’s exotics dealerships.
The car shown above is the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, and the picture was taken at Bloomsbury. (more…)
