With the success of their Focus Coupe, Ford decided it’s time for an upgraded version. There’s nothing new so far except for the fact that our good friends from WCF got some creative designers to come up with a rendering of the 2010 Ford Focus Coupe. Following the company’s current design philosophy, it has a lower grille, LED headlights, chunky wheel arches, a sloping tail end, a roof spoiler and big alloy wheels, while on the interior it has an iDrive-like system used to reduce dashboard clutter and stylish “furnishings”. With these looks and a wide range of engines, the 2010 Ford Focus Coupe it’s going to be a real winner when available on the market. [autoexpress]
Ford is trying to make it to the exquisite guys club, and announced that their ongoing electric vehicle program will bring the BEV – also known as Project to the market in 2012. Based on the 2010 Ford Focus, the electric vehicle is a joint venture between Ford and Magna International, Inc. which promises a car with a range of up to 100 miles on a single charge. Though supposed to be an affordable ride, there aren’t any official details about it and to be honest we’re not sure if 100 miles are enough for the daily commuter. Debuted at the British Auto Show a couple of months ago, the new Ford Focus RS has officially made it to production. With a sporty exterior that features a black grille, some sporty hood vents, a rear spoiler and diffuser, a dual exhaust, 19-inch wheels and Recaro wheels, the RS looks pretty mean. And it is mean. Under the hood there’s a five-cylinder 2.5l turbocharged engine that sports 296hp and gets the car from still to 60mph in just 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 155mph (electronically topped) but should easily reach 160 mph if the limiter would be removed. As for the price, in UK they’re expecting it to sell for a bit below £25,000 (some $30,000).
Today, the new 2010 Ford Mustang GT is being officially unveiled in Los Angeles. Available in coupe, convertible or glass roof variants, there will be nothing less than 150 colors to choose the one that goes great with your personality. Along with the cover breaking of the GT, there’s also a video for all those that can’t get in LA for the time being.
We’re still expecting to know the prices this beautiful toy will sell for. We definitely wanna try it out. – via WCF
The middle class battle is getting crazier and crazier now that the new Ford Focus leaked on the Internet. The guys at Auto Express published a rendering of how this little fella might look like. Other than the aggressive look they’ve also got some specs and we’re interested.
The EcoBoost engines start with the 1.0 liter that develops 89 to 109 hp and the best looking is the 1.6 liter turbo that sports from 148 to 178hp. Of course there are diesel engines, too. I’m talking of a 1.6 liter TDCi ranging from 89 to 128 hp and a 2.0 liter that outputs from 168hp to 197hp. It looks like Scirocco and the new Megane will have a “pretty” competitor by the end of 2010 when it’s supposed to go on sale. – via AU
For all those that have a Ford Mondeo and are looking for ways to tune it up, the German tuning house Rieger, announced a subtle styling package. Too bad it’s just for the wagon version of the car, but let’s see what’s new with their tuning package because I can’t see many modifications.
So it includes a front lip spoiler, side skirts with cutout shaft and rear bumper fascia, all in either ABS plastic or carbon fiber. There’s also a new rear bumper fascia (three versions depending on the exhaust type), an upgrade to the suspension (coilover suspension by KW) and a chip tuning upgrade from SKN Technology.
Again, I don’t think there’s anything special with this one, except for the tailpipes: dual pipes on He left or right, single sport pipe or single downward curved pipe. I don’t know the price, but I’ll be honest, I don’t think it’s worth it. – via Autoblog.nl
To be honest I never liked Ford Ka. Not sure about you, but I always considered it extremely expensive for what you get. I don’t think it was a big success, but Ford has news. A new Ford Ka s going to be officially presented to the public at the 2008 edition of Paris Motor Show and we managed to get our hands on a leaked picture of it.
The new Ford Ka shares the same platform with Fiat 500, and is a little bit more attractive, but to be honest I don’t think those two can be compared. Produced in Tychy, Poland, it will most likely use the same 1.25-litre petrol engine or the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel as the Italian car, and rumors say that there will be a special suspension tuning. Can’t wait!

There have been many renderings on how the new Ford Focus RS will look, but the wait is over because the Germans have come out with official news. And pictures. Here is an early prototype undergoing performance and durability testing at the Nürburgring Circuit in Germany.
The new Ford Focus RS is going to feature the same turbocharged Duratec 2.5-litre five cylinder in the 225 PS Focus ST optimized to generate over 280PS and more than 400 Nm of torque, with a front-wheel-drive and a limited slip differential. It should be launched early 2009 in Europe, but I’m sure we’ll get to see it first during the London Motor Show, in July.
