Where do you go if you want to have a super exclusive, terribly expensive and one-of-a-kind event – and you are a luxury auto company? Well, why not a place that is decorated with priceless art, in a city known for its rich culture in a venue that has never been used for public events ever?
That place would be the most Holy place on Earth – the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican.
This is the location for a utterly exclusive and super expensive Porsche event. The automaker has announced that they are holding an event in the famed Sistine Chapel as part of a 5-day trip through Italy.
The event is essentially a classical music concert that includes a formal dinner and private tour of both the Chapel and the Vatican Museums. (more…)
The van. It’s not a sexy automobile, nor has it been hailed as the greatest invention in history. It’s practical, and boxy and sometimes really uncool – remember when your uncle used to show off what his kombi can do? Yeah.
however, what we don’t know (or rarely think of) of the van, is how to came into existence and what a important influence it had on pop culture, the automotive industry and various other industries in the world.
Just think, if no one had invented the van, how would you get your mail delivered or where would you store your equipment?
Well, in case you didn’t know, Mercedes-Benz invented the van – although they were two separate companies at the time and the creation of the van was really all thanks to a stiff competition between the two. And now, the German automaker wants to show us the long (and surprisingly interesting) history of the van. (more…)

Do you know what is as important as having a good looking car? Having a clean, good looking car.
This is why we thought we’d introduce you to the world’s biggest car wash. At this car wash, you don’t just simply go for a wash ‘n go, you treat your petrol-run, metal friend (this is your car). Think of it as a parlour/spa for your car.
Mr. Wash, in Stuttgart, Germany, is way more than a car wash. You won’t find Frikkie and his hosepipe and Sunlight liquid at this establishment. Oh no.
The entire building is 2-stories high and cost a whopping $40 million to build! It can clean up to 400 cars per hour – yes, per HOUR. Which, if you calculate, amours to roughly 500 000 cars a year! (more…)
Road accidents are no joke. Whether they involve a car or a motorcycle, anyone who has ever been in an accident know how lucky they are to be alive. One man in particular, who can really count himself lucky, is this Russian motorcyclist.
The accident was caught on video by a Russian driver’s dashboard camera.
It was published on YouTube on august 19th and appears to have a July 3oth timestamp. According to various sources, the accident seems to take place on a bridge close to the Russian city of Korolyov.
According to Mashable, they cannot confirm nor deny that the video is, in fact, authentic – but if it turns out to be true, this gentleman can thank his lucky stars and give his guardian angel a pat on the back, because what happens is nothing shy of unbelievable.
We won’t spoil it for you, so check out the video below:
Seoul has recently revealed their plans t make their city more ‘female friendly’ – an initiative that will see the South Korean capital fork out more than $95 million in an effort to make the busy metropole more lush for the ladies.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has said that the city overhaul is designed to make females feel more comfortable, feel safer and more welcome in the city. While this is all good and well, there is one certain aspect of he re-design that has gotten some fiery feminists – in fact, all females – a little hot under the collar.
Part of the overhaul will include new parking spaces for women only. These spaces will be closer to shop entrances, better lit (so possible muggers won’t come too close) and will be MUCH wider than the other parking spaces. And now queue the ‘oh hell no!’ from women all across the globe… (more…)
We all know that boys love their toys – and especially 7 year old boys who have just discovered the joy that is a super car. So what do you do, as a parent, to make your Lamborghini obsessed son’s birthday one he will never forget? You organize a fleet of Lambo’s, of course.
This is exactly what one father did for his son’s 7th birthday. Jacob, as described by his father, is one of Lamborghini’s youngest fans. So for his 7th birthday, he’s dad thought he would give it a shot at organizing a ride in a Lamborghini for his son.
The California native contacted the North Los Angeles Lamborghini dealership on Facebook and told them about his son’s biggest dream. Asking if there was any way they could help him out by giving the little guy a ride, the team at Lamborghini North LA did one better. (more…)
We all know the game of Jenga. The game where you remove wooden blocks stacked on each other one by ne and hope and pray that you are not the on to cause the tower to come crashing down.
Well, imagine this game being played on a greater scale – and by greater scale we mean super large blocks being moved by huge Caterpillar machines instead of humans.
This is exactly what the company has done with their latest advertisement. Under the tagline “Designed to get it done no matter what it is”, the huge Caterpillar machines, which include an Escavator and Telehandler, play a friendly game of Jenga.
The ad is shot beautifully and it is actually really interesting to watch. You’ll be on the edge of your seat once one of the machines pulls out two blocks from the bottom row.
