Certain core details regarding the proposed 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 got leaked at U.S. Chevrolet dealers’ meeting. At the meeting, the vehicle was referred to as the ‘HP Edition’. It was solely called by that moniker throughout the meeting.

The meeting confirmed that the production begins on January 1st, 2012. The model will feature a 6.2 liter supercharged engine. The edition will also be fitted with a Magnetic Ride suspension and comes with 285F/330R tires.

The interior of the vehicle is likely to undergo certain modifications, including modest updates with brighter trim-work. As spotted in various leaked and spied images, the auto’s hood will have a louvre/slat design.

It is being speculated that the GM may have decided the 6.2 liter LSA V8 from the Cadillac CTS-V as the perfect one. The next Z28 may feature the same perhaps with some slight modifications. The engine produces 556 bhp (415 kW) and 551 lb-ft of torque (746 Nm).
