We all know (hopefully) that using your mobile phone while driving is an absolute no no. Whether you are making phone call, sending a text or checking your social media, it is extremely dangerous to use your phone while you are operating a vehicle.
Sure, you might think that you are only taking your eyes off the road for one second, but one second is all you need to cause a terrible accident.
This is what Volkswagen tries to illustrate in their latest ad, promoting the responsible use of mobile phones while driving. And by responsible we mean NOT using your mobile phone at all.
The ad, which was first shown to people in Korea, integrated clever technology to really have a great on effect on the people. (more…)
So you’re probably wondering what is so special about a loving son gifting his father a 1957 Chevy Bel-Air for his 57th birthday. Well, the fact that this has been a promise between father and son for more the 20 years and the way in which the dad reacts, will show you exactly why.
A long time ago, an 8-year old boy made a special promise to his father; he said that he will give him his dream car for his 57th birthday one day. That car was none other than the stunningly classic, Chevy Bel-Air.
So the years went by and while the father didn’t expect a promise made by a young, innocent 8-year old boy to be kept, he had the surprise of his lifetime when he found out it was. (more…)
If there is one type of car that needs to be fast, it’s a police car. Seeing as though they catch and chase criminals and all, one would expect these cars to be super fast.
However, locally our police cars aren’t that fast. In fact, some of them are rather slow – not good at all if you are pursuing a criminal in the loose! But just because our local cars aren’t ridiculously fast, doesn’t mean that other country’s police cars have to be slow too. In fact, this new police car from a small town in the south of England is anything but slow. (more…)
Since retiring from his job as a late night talk show host, Jay Leno has kept himself busy with a few things; most of them being cars. His all new, online-based tai show, ‘Jay Leno’s Garage’ is a popular watch among many a petrol head.
This week, Jay has somewhat of a special episode in store for his viewers. He took on of Italy’s most famous (and lets add, beautiful) races, the Mille Miglia.
And of course, him being Jay Leno and all, he did in utter style – in a classic, stunningly beautiful, Jaguar XK120.
The Mille Miglia, for those of you who don;t know, is an annual, 1000 mile race in Italy that stretches from Brescia to Rome and back. The first ever Mille Miglia was held in 1927 and was a full-on endurance race until 1957. However, in 1977 the race was reinstated as a ‘regularity race’ for vintage and classic cars. (more…)
You may have heard the news already, but perhaps you didn’t believe it – because it really is almost unbelievable.
While we have heard of Google’s Prius powered self-driving cars before, we have not been well acquainted with their very own, ‘built-from-scratch’ self-driving car. This is mainly because it was only shown to the public for the very first time last week.
The mega tech company invited a handful of everyday, normal people like us to witness their very first prototype of their self-driving car in action. And needless to say, the people there (as well as us) were kind of blown away. (more…)
A few months ago, the Hennessey Venom GT became the fastest car in the world. And of course, the attention immediately thrust the car, as well as Hennessey into the spotlight.
The Hennessey GT Venom officially became the fastest car in the world after it broke the land speed record in February. The super car topped an incredible 270,4 miles per hour, which for us means 435, 26 km/h! Yes, we know, that’s super fast. (more…)
So, generally speaking, there aren’t many vehicle enthusiasts (or everyday people, for that matter) that hold the Smart Car in a high regard. In fact, many people and critics a like think the tiny car is cute – when you’re 16.
However, what if the Smart Car, in all it’s petite glory, had a bit of a make over in the engine department. Would you consider driving one of them then? Probably not. But this next video might make you think otherwise. (more…)
Japan’s underworld is home to many things and many, how should I say, eccentric people. Whether it’s social billionaires, thrill-seeking daredevils or, in this case, flashy yakuza’s (yakuza being an organized crime syndicate).
This gang, operating in Tokyo’s underworld has always had a penchant for fast cars or bikes. However, recently, it seems that the yakuza are having some sort of internal competition as to see who has the most blinged-out car. There preferred mode of transport? Lamborghini’s of course.
The gang was originally some sort of motorcycle gang, but quickly transitioned into more flashy (and more expensive) automobiles. Going from a daring motorcycle club to Lambo-racing criminals will obviously come with new threats and in this case, super flashy style. (more…)
