New spy photos of the 2012 Mercedes ML 63 AMG have emerged. The prototype was undergoing testing near the Nürburgring and was spotted with far less camouflage than ever before. A sleeker front bumper was revealed, as were sweptback headlights, a tailgate-mounted spoiler, and AMG wheels. This model too has a dual exhaust but it is still not known whether Mercedes will drop AMG’s traditional four-pipe setup.
The car is powered by a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 with 544 PS (400 kW / 537 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This is supported by a seven-speed Speedshift MCT transmission which would help the SUV to zoom from 0-100 km/h in less than five seconds.
Most probably, the ML63 AMG will be unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, and more details are sure to emerge soon.
