Audi has announced its new plans with regard to the United States market place. The auto maker giant plans to launch diesel models of A6, A8, and Q5. As you already know, TDI engine variants of A3 and Q7 are now available. The new move will add on to this line up. However, the company has no plans to offer a diesel version of A4. But the redesigned model of the same is released in the year 2014 or 2015.

Another significant announcement is that the company also plans to sell an e-Tron by the year 2013. Well, it is speculated that this e-tron could be the R8 e-Tron. But no official confirmation supports this.

About R8 e-Tron, the prototype has got a 42.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. The four electric motors develops a combined 308 hp (230 kW / 312 PS) and 4,500 Nm (3,319 lb-ft) of torque.

This makes the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The top speed offered is 200 km/h (124 mph), and can ravel 248 km (154 miles) on a single charge.
