BMW has come out with more information about the 1 Series M Coupe, which is touted to be the one that will bring back BMW’s distinct style back to the market. The model will be shown to the public at the Detroit Motor Show in December, say sources. This is much awaited by hardcore BMW fans who were disappointed with the look of the previous offering, the V8 model.
Technical details for the car are that it has a 340-hp version of the twin-turbo 3.0-liter six that is from the Z4 sDrive 35iS. Weighing about 3,300 pounds, the car functions through a six-speed manual, which is a change from M3 GTS that had a dual-clutch gearbox.
Reports say that the car will be priced in a range between the existing 135i and M3, which means it would cost around $45,000. More details will be emerging in the lead up to the Detroit Show.
