The 2012 Nissan GT-R has been detailed with a new bumper in front, complete with LED daytime lights, a change in the posterior – and a change in the diffuser, the vehicle is equipped with Hyper Blue Black Chrome wheels.
Inside, the dashboard has been tweaked a bit, and chrome-plated accents are in place, fitting in nicely with the new seats and carbon fiber trim. Powering the vehicle is a twin-turbo V6 that gives 530 PS (390 kW / 523 bhp) and 612 Nm (451 lb-ft) of torque. The best part is that engineers have actually managed to ensure that fuel efficiency has improved even with the additional power.
Driving is definitely going be smoother – new options include the deactivation of the all-wheel drive system when the vehicle is traveling less than 10 km/h (6 mph). The new strut bars that are present under the dashboard greatly add to chassis rigidity and responsiveness. Also the rear suspension now has a modified roll center height to improve the grip on the road while cornering.
Sources say the updated GT-R will be available in Japan and that the public unveiling will be at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Prices in Japan start at 8,694,000 yen. It will be available in the US and Europe after February 2011.
