The 2012 Mazda RX-9 is gearing up for the roll out. The car will be taking the baton from the RX-7. A two-door vehicle that weighs about 1250kg (2755 lbs), the 2012 Mazda RX-9 will come sporting a new rotary engine that in most likelihood will have an electric supercharger.

This new electric supercharger will be giving it more than 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS). The RX-9 will probably share chassis components with the next-gen MX-5.

The RX-9 is expected to be a lot more efficient than the RX-8 despite the fact that it will have to deal with added performance. More details are expected to emerge before its 2011 launch.
