The UK market has welcomed the new Vauxhall VXR8 sedan. Driving into the British market place, the VXR8 promises ultra good performance with its new engine – incidentally the largest ever that has been fitted into a Vauxhall model. The car has been presented as a high-powered rear-wheel drive sedan that takes off from the earlier Holden HSV E3 GTS model.
Powered by the new large 6.2 liter LS3 engine that offers 431 PS (425 bhp / 317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, the VXR8 boasts of capabilities that puts into play either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. The car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and drives at a top speed of 155 mph.
UK customers can pick their model at 6 select Vauxhall dealers for prices starting at £49,500.
Vauxhall has thrown in many a unique feature and they include a suspension set-up with MacPherson struts, Magnetic Ride Control (MRC), a launch control function for stability and a Shockwave grille.
The car sports LED at the front, and has a rear spoiler, LED tail lights and dual exhaust. An EDI system incorporated offers an on-board computer that will display performance data on the 5-inch monitor provided.
