Ford has provided more details about their North American C-Max. The vehicle made its first appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show and reports say it will make an appearance at the North American International Auto Show as well. The company reveals that the C-Max favors dynamic styling rather than following the typical MPV look.
Designed with young families in mind, the vehicle has a hands-free tailgate that can be opened with a leg hooking the bumper open; a glass roof and a passive entry system.
The seating arrangement is ’5+2′ with a sliding second row, which can be customized to fit the occupants’ needs. A variety of options are available in the vehicle, like leather upholstery, heated front seats, GPS navigation etc.
Of the two engines available, the 2.5-liter I4 produces 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 167 lb-ft (226 Nm), while the 1.6-liter EcoBoost provides 180 hp (134 kW / 183 PS) and 173 lb-ft (234 Nm) of torque.
Both are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Reports say that the vehicle so stay tuned for more information.
