Mercedes will be putting the SLS AMG E-Cell into production in short time as they have confirmed their official plans. The proposed model is said to be very similar to the leaked, teased and test-driven prototype. The prototype model was driven by David Coulthard.
The model is said to be crafted under the “AMG Performance 2015”strategy of the company and the car is likely to feature a 48 kWh lithium-ion battery which can power four synchronous electric motors that has the capacity to give a combined output of 392 kW (526 bhp / 533 PS) and 880 Nm (649 lb-ft) of torque.
The company will also be incorporating LED headlights, a wider radiator grille, a revised hood, and a more aggressive rear diffuse on the upcoming SLS AMG E-Cell. The 10 spoke alloys, the matte black accents and the extendable front splitter will make the car to appear more aggressive.
It will get Nappa leather upholstery, Alcantara accents, and a new instrument cluster inside the cabin. The model will also boast a revised center console with 25cm (9.8-inch) touchscreen display.
The company claims to bring out more models in the coming years and those models are expected to deliver the best performance with lower fuel consumption.
