Spy cams that have been stalking the Nürburgring circuit have caught on film the 2012 Opel Astra OPC. The car, in heavy camouflage, has been snapped up as it got on to the testing track.

One of the first cars on the test track this season, the 2012 Opel Astra OPC has been found as a 3-door prototype. The images reveal large Brembo brakes and dual exhaust pipes at each end of the rear bumper.

If you would remember, an Astra OPC/VXR concept saw the wraps go off it in September last when the Paris Auto Show was underway.

That was a forerunner to this model, but had a different front fascia with LED day timers. It also had bulging rear wheel arches around those 21-inch wheels

Bearing a very much identical engine as we had seen in the concept, we guess the 2012 Astra OPC will be run by a turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder unit that return 290 PS (213 kW / 286 bhp).

Other features include a gearbox of six-speed manual transmission. Take a look at the images that were caught on spycam.
