Brabus has come up with a new tuning program the twin-turbo V8 engines, which are incorporated in Mercedes CL550/S550 and CL63/S63 AMG models.
As for the CL550 and S550 models, they will be equipped with the 490 PowerXtra CGI kit. This allows the engine to churn out 490 PS (360 kW / 482 bhp) and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque, which is more from the standard 435 PS (320 kW / 429 bhp).
Another version 520 PowerXtra CGI package allows the engine to produce 520 PS (382 kW / 512 bhp) and 820 Nm (604 lb-ft) of torque. This accounts for an increment of 85 PS (63 kW / 84 bhp) for both 500 models.
Coming to the CL63 and S63 AMG, a 584 PowerXtra CGI setup will be there. It develops an additional 40 PS (29 kW / 39 bhp). The other 620 PowerXtra CGI version produces 620 PS (455 kW / 610 bhp) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque.
Thus the tuning enables both the CL- and S-Class can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 320 km/h (200 mph).
