It has been quite a few years since we started hearing about the sports car FT-86 II. Though not official, some sources say that Toyota has their fix for FT-86’s powertrain. Last month’s Geneva Motor Show witnessed the FT-86 which was in its final phase of production.
The production model will be equipped with 2.0 liter flat four boxer engine. The light weight monocoque anatomy measures 4235mm in length with a 2570mm wheelbase and 1270mm height. We hear the FT-86 will probably have a 1100kg kerb weight.
The 2.0 liter engine comes with a 6-speed manual gear box, also with 6-speed paddle shift auto option. According to the engineers behind the making for the car, the model can acquire acceleration from 0-100 km/h in only 7 seconds, with a top speed of 225km/h. We will wait to hear more on the new mean machine from the Toyota stables.
