Before jumping into the details, have a look at the spied shots of the 2012 Opel ‘Baby Antara’ compact SUV added below. The best part of the news is that it brings before your eyes the engine features and interiors as well.
Power comes from a 1.4 liter turbo unit with an output of 140 PS (138 bhp / 103 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque. Further, it is connected to a six-speed manual transmission. Expected to debut next year, the model will also be sharing technology with the Chevrolet Sonic, which is known by the name Aveo in Europe.
The new compact SUV will be slotted below the Antara in the Opel model lineup. The model is being developed by GM Daewoo in Korea, where most Chevrolet Europe models are made.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that ‘Baby Antara’ will compete in a recently established and rapidly growing segment of compact SUVs in Europe such as the Audi Q3 and the Nissan Qashqai.
