When it comes to electric vehicles, there seems to be an added number of cars that are being lined up. Many top brands are geared up to follow the trend of future. German player Opel has taken it a step further, by announcing plans to launch a ground breaking fuel-cell vehicle (FCV). The vehicle is expected to roll out in 2015.
Besides the FCV that is being planned, the company is also said to be earmarked $15.8 billion to develop other models that could be released by 2014. Of this, as much as $1 billion will go towards developing fuel saving car engines and transmission systems.
Opel has also readied three new engine families – a small petrol, a medium petrol and a medium diesel, which will be introduced s as to abide with the forthcoming Euro 6 emission standards.
