If you have driven the Golf R, you will be familiar about the power the VW vehicle comes with. We  hear that the VW Beetle R will get almost the same amount of power, thanks to the 2.0 liter TFSI unit that will be fitted into the car.

A new R version of the new Beetle model is being rolled out and it will get the full 270 PS (199 kW / 266 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque from the power plant.

According to a  report, the Beetle – a Europe specific vehicle – will be getting the 2.0 liter TFSI unit from the Golf GTI in a 200 PS (147 kW / 197 bhp) configuration. The car will most probably roll out later this year.

It will have the capability to race from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 7.5 seconds. Fuel consumption will be 7.7 liters/100 km and prices will start at €27,100.
