Korean carmaker Hyundai seems less enthusiastic about the release of its face lifted models. May be that’s why the company has made the unveiling of its 2012 Sonata facelift a quiet affair.
The car, however, looks stunning and is distinct from the present market model. The face-lifted version comes equipped a revised grille, restyled mirrors, LED taillights and new 18-inch alloy wheels.
Though the alterations seem to have brought in minimum changes to the interior, we find a handful of higher quality materials, revised trim and a cool glove box have been included. Hyundai hopes to keep on the legacy of its earlier mid-sized sedan with the mild tweaks.
The car will continue with the default 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine giving 165 hp (123 kW / 167 PS) in South Korea. However, the 2.4-liter edition of the face-lifted 2012 Sonata will be changed to fit in the new turbocharged 2.0-liter which pumps out a power of 271 (202 kW / 275 PS).
