While the North American specified 2012 Honda CR-V is scheduled for its official debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November, the car manufacturer’s own Japanese website has revealed the production model.
This production image, which doesn’t seem too far off the concept car revealed back in July, promises increased interior space, a lower height and a lower load floor. The vehicle displays a three-bar grille and sweeping roofline. There is also plastic body cladding, a prominent character line and large alloy wheels.
The interior, which also doesn’t offer many surprises, features a redesigned instrument cluster, a tiered dashboard and navigation system. Under the hood, Honda continues to employ its 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine. A new six-speed automatic transmission for 2012 is expected to take over from the five-speed auto to assist with increased performance and fuel economy. The L.A. Motor Show will see the official engine specifications exposed as well as other design details.
