If winning the grueling Tour de France wasn’t enough, this year’s winner, African-born Chris Froome, has received a (very) nice congratulatory gift from Jaguar.

The man that took on France and conquered has been giving a brand new bespoke Jaguar F-type from the UK-based company for enduring and eventually winning the 2013 Tour de France.

Froome’s new ride features a lovely two-tone paint job with Froome’s riding team, Team Sky Pro, livery, sponsor decals and some selected pictures from fans. These pictures formed part of Jaguar’s #GetBehindTeamSky campaign that took social media by storm.

Although it has not been stated exactly which model Froome received, the S badge on the car might give us a hint. Judging by the badge itself, it should either be a F-type V6S or a V8 S.

Jaguar’s ferocious F-type S uses a supercharged 3.0 liter V6 engine that delivers 280kW and 48Nm of torque. The F-type V8 on the other hand, has a 5.0 liter V8 engine that produces 364kW and 625Nm of torque. No guessing as to which model Froome hoped for…

The interior of this car features a driver-focused philosophy. The interior is beautifully designed with dramatic, eye-catching architecture with unique technical grains that tailor the trim materials. This all contributes to a one-of-a-kind look and feel.

It goes without saying that Froome was over the moon about this (very) generous gift. He was also very thankful to Jaguar for their support during his campaign and race and eventual win at the Tour de France.

Froome was ever the gentleman and thanked Jaguar in a wonderful manner: “Every young cyclist dreams of one day riding in the Tour de France, let alone winning it. I haven’t done it alone though. Team Sky has a great set of partners, and I’d like to thank Jaguar for their brilliant support over the past four years. They’ve invested a lot of time and ingenuity into designing the XF Sportbrake, which is the perfect race support car for us. It has been crucial to keeping the team on the road throughout the competition.”

With a Tour de France title under his belt and a Jaguar F-type in his garage, I guess it’s easy to say Mr. Froome is one happy cyclist!
