Tesla has been making a few waves in the media lately. Just after announcing that they would have no problem with other car companies using their electric technology in order to make the world a better place, it has been revealed that a new Tesla car is fast approaching.
The Tesla Model X – the company’s answer to a greener SUV – will be available for purchase as early as 2015.
The first prototypes of the car are expected to roll out before the end of this year, so Tesla is really quite keen on getting the much anticipated Model X out there.
While CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk himself has revealed various details about the car, a recent email to those who have reserved a Model X (called reservation holders) further describes some details about the impending SUV.
First off, the Model X will have Falcon doors – meaning they open upwards. This is rather strange for an SUV, considering the fact that an SUV is already rather big car. Secondly, the Model X will feature 3 row seating, with the second and third rows being foldable, so you can make space for extra cargo.
The car will also come standard with an all-wheel drive.
No details about different variants or upgrades have emerged about the Model X, but we;re guessing with the launch date drawing closer and closer we will soon know exactly what the Model X has to offer.
For now, though, we can just keep our ears on the ground and keep a close eye on Tesla – you know they’re fond of surprises.
